Understanding personal motivations would come at a later time and possibly after she assessed whether or not Levi Kenning was of the variety of person that she could stand to spend more than ten minutes with in private.

"Hello," she echoed as her eyes softened slightly despite the glimmer of jealousy lingering around their edges. "Is it?" He question was marked with a transparent tone of surprise. "That is not a sentiment I am accustomed to hearing recently," she observed unapologetically. She supposed the polite thing would to be to thank him or offer up a similar set of words in response, but Valerie was rather done with deception for now. It merely caused her blood to boil again.
