"Then I'll just hang on to my money," he said, laughing a little. "Kidding, just kidding! I don't mind doing it. I'll just go and order then..."
He went to place the order and was back with their food a few minutes later, just in time to hear Vivian telling him not to overwork himself. He laughed. "I'll try not to!" he said as he put the dishes down on the table. "So there's a mac and cheese and a butterbeer for you, and for dessert..." He pulled a chocolate chip cookie out from behind his back and handed it to her. He was enjoying his meal when she asked about the dance part at the Gryffindor table. "Yeah, the night the Ilvermorny people got here," he said. "One of them had a boom box, and there was lots of noise and dancing and... frankly, I'm surprised Hawthorne didn't have a heart attack from all the fun!"
Then the subject turned to the IMPS competition. "Tell me about it!" the blond Gryffindor exclaimed. "It's so unfair!" That was the worst thing ever about being a fourth year... you were too old to be an ickle but still too young to be one of the big kids. What Vivian said next made him smile. "Thanks!" he said. "I wonder what your dormmates would think of you cheering on a Gryffindor..." Somehow he didn't think that would go over too well with the Slytherins...
Vivian giggled at what Zorro was doing, like he was some sort of waiter on duty. "
Thank you, Sir!" she replied and returned his salute, going with the flow. The blonde was very thankful for her Gryffindor friend's gesture of ordering for both of them. Being a gentleman was highly appreciated, and her mum had told her it was a sign of a guy's good upbringing. Vivian was quite sure her mum would like Fiyero, if they ever met. "
It's alright," she said. A joke was a joke, nothing the Slytherin would ever take seriously considering her dad was the biggest prankster in the Fairfield family. "
But really, thanks a lot." She smiled to reassure him.
He'll try not to? Hmm. "
'Course, you can study as much as you want but Super Vivi will make sure you get to chill," the blonde said. Actually, she hadn't even thought of studying for her OWLs yet. She was determined to finish this term first before she dealt with the seriousness of their fifth year examinations. As one of her life mottos went, don't worry about the future when you still have the present! Vivian was about to thank Zorro for bringing her food but... the cookie, though. She hadn't expected that. "
You didn't have to, Zorro. Here, we can share the cookie." Vivian took it and broke it into two pieces, then offered the other half to Fiyero. She hoped he'd take it, because then she had to pay for the cookie. It was a different situation when her family bought her food, but having someone unrelated to her do it was another story.
The blonde began digging into her macaroni and cheese. AAAHHHH so good! It reminded her of her mum's cooking at home. "
And the headmistress didn't even mind the boom box?" Vivian found it amusing. Usually the people in high positions were strict and all, but the Slytherin was quite glad that Headmistress Hawthorne gave the students a chance to have fun. She was officially going up the 'cool list' of Professors at Hogwarts, no doubt. "
That would've been great to be part of, indeed. Sounds like a lot of fun."
"
Maybe our time hasn't come yet. Good things come to those who wait," Vivian said. She liked to remain positive when people decided things weren't in their favour. After all, they still had three more terms after this one to prove themselves. And... were her friends really going to make a big deal out of her supporting a Gryffindor? Vivian gave it some thought before ultimately shaking her head. "
They won't. In fact, my dorm mates and I happen to have friends from your House, too. And my dad was a Gryffindor when he used to be here, so why would I not like the people in his house, right?" Sure, there was bad blood between their houses, but that was yeaaaars ago. The blonde was determined not to let their houses divide them in spite of the differences.
