Cassie was pleased with her stronger patronus, but not so much when the dementor first seemed like it was going to just dodge it. That would mean she and the other girl were in some serious trouble. But then it was pushed away from them and back into the darkness and the Ravenclaw let out her breath that she hadn’t even realized she was holding. She kept her wand in hand just in case it should try and return but her attention was drawn to her companion as the other girl spoke up.
“That was a dementor…a very nasty creature that sucks your happiness and soul,” she remarked, answering the first question posed to her as she moved closer to the fallen stranger. As she struggles and fails to stand, Cass helps ease her back down realizing what sort of state the girl was in. Boy, what she wouldn’t give for having some chocolate on her person to help. “I used a patronus charm,” the fifth year said, “it’s a charm fueled by happy memories that can keep dementors at bay.” Which was lucky for them both, especially that she had found a powerful enough memory.
Now she just had to figure out the best way to help her companion so they could both move on. First Cassie cast a quick hot air spell to warm the area around them both. Then with a focused “Gaudeo” she cast the cheering charm on the other girl in hope that cheering her up would help with her inability to move even just a bit. “How does that feel?”
