Couldn't have aced that essay without you...and I was kinda hoping you help with with that other one too. It's due week after next."
Pleeeease?
And a squeeze! Sam grinned. It wasn't a proper hug, but given how busy it was here and all, it was more than she could have hoped for. She tucked her arm through his, without really thinking about it, and started to lead them down towards the Shrieking Shack where it was quieter.
"She was here earlier, meeting up with her Aunt and Uncle, but I think she's snowed under with her studies and this IMPS stuff." She gave a small shrug. "Did'ya know they had to face dragons in the past? Mother dragons with eggs?" She couldn't imagine how angry they must have seemed. "And then another time there was a cockatrice let loose in a maze..."
There'd be nothing that bad this time round, right?
"How's things at yo-, er, home?" Quote:

WHAT THE HECK
Astrea panicked. What if Sam changed her mind?! And she didn't want Astrea to meet him? But as she did a 360 spin, she saw Sam's figure next to a taller boy headed down the road. OKAY. Astrea bounded towards them, stopped running once she got to Sam, and smiled and waved as she put an arm around Sam. "HEYA!" she said cheerfully, choking her nerves back. "I made it!" obviously. She waved at Robin. "And YOU must be Robin! HI! I'm Astrea. Do you do handshakes?" she asked. Because she had been practicing hers. A lot. This was... all a bit foreign to him. He knew gifts were a thing on some holidays and definitely birthdays and special occasions. Was this a special occasion and he had read the situation incorrectly? Oh MAN. This was horrible. He was horrible. With his free hand he fumbled in his pocket for the inhaler.
One puff. Two. THREE.
This was overwhelming for him.
Robin followed along with Sam and was only mildly uncomfrtable with the arm thing. It wasn't HER. It was the fact that he was already kind of uncomfortable.
Swallowing down a bubble of anxiety, he kept his arm through hers, Progress. Listening as she spoke about Dora he frowned slightly, though. "She keeps too busy and she'll have anxiety." He should know. And now he stopped up short, eyes wide. "She can't do things like that. What if she gets hurt?" THIS WAS STRESSING HIM OUT! What if she got hurt for real. Like BADLY. "What kind of school lets kids face a dragon and a cockatrice? Come home. Don't stay here."
And he meant it! She couldn't stay here and face monsters and stuff. "And Dora should leave too." Because FRIEND.
And then that happened. The other girl. Sam's special friend. Oh GOD. She was... something. Robin could almost FEEL the enegery radiating off of her. It was troubling. He gave her a look of total shock when she started to speak.
Not that he MEANT to. But it happened.
"No thank you. No please. Don't." No touching now. He was stressed out. Could they tell? Unlinking his arm from Sam's he stumbled back a few steps and started breathing in what he hoped would be a relaxing fashion. |
