Sam caught the words of her friend and who she was supporting and gave her a tight lipped nod. “figured you would.” She said turning her attention back to the boys beside her. The Gryffindor girl nodded and gave a small smile at the boys wanting some of her warm beverages. “Sure thing.” She said reaching down into her bag and pulling out three mugs, each with the phrase ‘Share and Enjoy’ inscribed upon them, the same as her thermoses. They had been a Christmas gift from Emmaleigh last year. Handing one to Deo, “Here you go.” And then the other two to Ace, with a “Hold Please.” She then carefully poured the warm liquid into the cups for the boys and herself.
Sipping on her cocoa she watched the competition. As the events unfolded, her jaw dropped. That was truly appalling. First it was the use if dementors, which had made her incredibly glad that she hadn’t been chosen for this competition. Because Yeah, she could do the patronus charm, but just barely and probably not with one of those around. And honestly, after last term, she wasn’t quite sure how much the school actually cared to protect the students, so seeing this in action was pretty alarming. They had her on the edge of her seat, and she was worried about both Levi and Carl, but the both managed to make it past that hurdle, barely.
Breathing a sigh of relief, she looked over and caught a glance of was going on beside her. Welp that was one way to tick her off. First of all, what on earth was that girl doing? She looked like a moron. Second, lay off her cousin, okay? Just stop. She rolled her eyes and turned back to the reason she was here. But then… Then they were using…. “Muggles?” She whispered out loud. That was just horrifying. Did they what, capture some and bring them here to torture them? Good news was most of them seemed to be getting out of there okay. But was that all?
Maegan grinned even wider seeing Deo’s reaction to antics. See, this is why she adored him, he was just too adorable when she did things like this. “Of Course, Horned Serpents for life.” She said giving him a wink, to too things off as she agreed with him. Enough with teasing though, it was time to concentrate on the events at hand. She watched, paying special attention to her housemates. She couldn’t believe that they competition was using real dementors for this, and briefly considered the idea of boggarts, but not twelve of them was unlikely. Her stomach was in knots, yes, but she wasn’t reacting like most of the people were starting to.
When the Dementor’s victims started asking question, she heard the murmur through the crowd, and looked around. Bringing No-Maj’s into this was a little extreme. The serpent girl’s intelligent eyes studied what she was seeing, and then searched for the judges and professors in the crowd. They all seemed to be remaining cool and collected. Or most of them anyways. Allowing her eyes to rest on her own headmistress she knew there was no way the woman would be down for a bit of No-Maj torture. She didn’t notice the girl beside her getting up and leaving as she turned her attention back to the competitors. “They can’t be. There’s some trick here.” She said quietly. She couldn’t quite figure it out, but, there was something. Now she really wished that she’d taken a seat beside Deo and Evan so they could figure out what it was.
