Whereas Quodpot was like basketball too...but with an exploding basketball.
No thanks. He'd take a pass. Although one could argue that bludgers were no safer...and they definitely weren't...but he liked the added element of the snitch too!
So naturally, he found himself wandering around the pitch multiple times since he had arrived at the school, taking in the sheer size and beauty of it. It was a real crime that they didn't play here - something about someone threatening the school over it? Or something stupid like that? Shame, he would have loved to see the Hogwarts houses play each other. It was nice and quiet over here too, so it was a good place to stroll and think. He often whistled to himself too as he walked. It echoed around the pitch and made him chuckle.
Today though...there was someone else there. That Valerie girl from Wampus who had been chosen to play in the IMPS competition. Ezra was just a tad disappointed he hadn't gotten picked, but at the same time, he was sort of relieved. It sounded dangerous, and he was not a big fan of danger.
Not being a daredevil is what prompted him to speak up now.
"Um, is that allowed?" he called out to her, biting his lip as he watched her fly around. So many questions - ONE, why hadn't HE thought to bring his broom? TWO - did she think there was going to be flying involved in the competition? Or was she just...out for a nice fly? And THREE - seriously, was this allowed?! Would they get in trouble??
Something told him that she didn't care at all about the trouble part.
Few would understand the depths of the freedom Valerie felt on a broom. It came second only to what she felt when she slipped into her animagus form.
She had started off slow. Nothing more than the standard tour around the field without much showmanship. Her second lap produced a bit more unpredictable movements. Sharp zig zags and loose 'S' shaped curls every now and then as she glided effortlessly through the air. Her third trip around was all about speed and it was during her third lap that the Pukwudgie joined her. She pulled up on the handle to bring her broom to a stop and looked down when he heard her.
"
Perfectly good field with no indication of its use being off limits," she started cooly in reply. "
Why would it be disallowed?"
Not that it would have particularly mattered to her regardless.
