People had kept arriving, and that had only raised Stasya’s spirits even more, although she had stayed quiet all until Professor Newton had started the lesson. Everyone who had greeted her had gotten a smile, anyway, as she’d kept her hands curled around the cup of cocoa to keep them warm. Aside from a tiny wave back at Noelle, she wasn’t planning on moving her hands until she had to in order to take notes. Although, she’d been close enough to hear the things Derf had whispered to Abey, and that had made her lean over to whisper to him. “What about if the house elves made the cocoa?”

It was an important question. She wanted to know if there was any food at the castle she could trust, but asking the professor didn’t seem like the right thing to do. Not when they were supposed to be answering the question that had been asked, and she had raised her hand nearly as soon as Liv had stopped talking. “I agree with Liv. Making the world better for creatures is just s important as making it better for people, and besides, maybe that would make it better for people too because then the creatures wouldn’t be scared that we were going to hurt them,” she said solemnly. Plus that stuff Mel had said about bees, but bees were creatures too.
