Dora swallowed as the man met her eyes and spoke the first time, but it had not wavered her resolve in casting her patronus. That much was clear when the Dementor fled and after a few long moments, her patronus dissipated. She was still well aware of what was going on around her. The supersensory charm was still working its magic, if you will. The girl listened closely for any sounds as she stepped closer to the man on the ground. Not to mention that her eyes swept the surrounding area at regular intervals.
Having Sabel as her tutor and Uncle was definitely a plus in this particular situation.
The girl gripped her wand tighter as she moved slowly, once again, toward the man. His next words though, she had not been expecting. Not that it made her stop her slow, forward movements, but she did soften her features and move with less zeal. Surely the maN was not... speaking to her? She had done nothing but save him... but she did cast glances behind her in regular intervals as she moved.
Was there someone else there?
"Are you hurt? " she asked as she stepped slowly toward him, which didn't put her much closer seeing as he scampered backward as he did. Curious. "Do you know who I am? Or how you came to be here? " she asked as she moved to a crouch, but still not trying to be imposing. Her senses were on high alert for any trace of movement or sound as she advanced. "I'm not here to harm you, only help. But you have to tell me if you're hurt. "
There was no point in ruching at the man or overwhelming him in this matter. It would surely do more harm than good in this situation. "Do you... do you know where the creature came from? " Almost involuntarily she cast a glance behind her once more, but kept her wand trained in front of herself. Her grip tight and sure.
In the back of her mind she thought of the men who meant so much to her in her life... Spike, Sabel, her dad, Kapoor. What if this was one of them here before her?! She'd be distraught beyond comprehension, surely?
Or everything they had ever taught her would come into play? Was this all a test of her will? If so, they would surely learn that it was iron clad. For all of the ways she was a textbook Gryffindor and bled it from her soul... she had had some pretty amazing teachers preparing her for times like this. All in theory, sure, but the blonde had paid attention nonetheless.
And she had crept closer still to the unknown man before her, hoping to convey with her eyes and body language that she meant him no harm. Quite the contrary actually...
And without another word she raised her wand and shot off SEVERAL more Patronuses in random directions. Just in case. And then followed it with a wand to rhe sky as she muttered, "Protego Maxima, Protego Horrilibis! " Not knowing what was next was not going to keep hER from keeping this man safe. She'd throw herself in front of whatever came if need be. But she was confident in her defense against the dark arts training to think it would not come to that.
But who knew.
