Normally the laughter would make Gabby feel like she was being laughed AT - never a good thing for the person in question. But from Evan she knew that wasn't the case in all. Women just loved to go shopping. Sure there were some who didn't, but they were plain weird and she didn't associate with them much if possible. One of the best things in life was a good outfit, and anyone who disagreed with that needed to have their head examined. "Your daughter has common sense." In other words Gabby agreed 100% with what she had said. "Definitely a good idea to go that way. All good husbands spoil their wives from time to time." Of course it worked the other way around too; Archer definitely got spoiled in some ways, though they both preferred when she was the one getting spoiled.
Gabby couldn't help but laugh along with Evan. "I don't know how I would get on without magic in all honesty." It was something that she didn't like to think about, so she tried not to as much as possible. Instead she moved on to the next bit of paperwork that she needed to get done; it seemed that all she ever did was paperwork and it was so very dull. Lynley was lucky that Gabby loved her.
