Henry was already growing bored and he had just barely gotten started on any textbook reading. He had finally found the section on the constellation Pegasus, and he read over the same paragraph a couple times as he was quickly getting distracted.

Someone had an active imagination though, when they determined that this grouping of stars looked like a winged horse, Henry thought as he looked at the diagram. But he began writing down some facts in his notes as he read them, hoping that they'd move on to something more engaging soon. The myth, of course, was the most interesting part, but he wasn't completely sure what that had to do with the constellation, other than someone thought it resembled Pegasus.

SPOILER!!: Henry's Notes

Pegasus
  • A large constellation easily identifiable due to its bright asterism (groups of stars) known as "The Square of Pegasus"
  • Pegasus is visible in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres
  • In the Northern hemisphere, Pegasus can be seen from July to January
  • In the Southern hemisphere, the constellation can be viewed from August to December
  • In the Southern hemisphere Pegasus will appear upside down.
  • It contains the first planets outside our solar system to have been directly observed by an Earth based telescope
  • Pegasus is a winged horse from Greek mythology, who brought forth springs from the Earth wherever it walked. Pegasus was also a servant to Zeus the King of Gods, obeying his every command.
After the Greek hero Perseus defeated Medusa, the monster’s blood from her decapitation mingled with the sea water resulting in Pegasus being born from the cave floor along with his brother in the form of a young man named Chrysaor. Pegasus’s mother is therefore considered to be Medusa and his father Poseidon God of the Sea.
