Dana Aila Maxwell was born on the leap day of 2076 to married No-Maj couple Daniel and Aubrey Maxwell in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her birth brought joy to the Maxwell family as she was another addition to the growing number of cousins among her generation. Being part of a No-Maj family, Dana never knew what magic was before setting foot on Ilvermorny. Although, at the young age, it was one of the many topics her mom would like to tell to her during bed time, she never thought that such thing actually existed. By the age of five, Dana had started showing signs of magic. When happy, she would giggle and send the flowers blooming overnight. However, when hungry or annoyed, baby Dana would wail and break the glass windows or topple over the books from her parents' book stands. Besides that, her parents' marriage had been quite strained, too, especially when Dana had turned seven and was sent to a No-Maj primary school. Prior to tying the knot with her husband, Aubrey Maxwell was unaware of her partner's past. She had only known it when Daniel's former wife, Yasmin, walked into his life again with their two children from their former marriage, Cade and Annie, who were ten and nine by then, respectively. Dana saw her mother go through pain, even to the extent that Aubrey considered filing for a divorce and taking custody over her daughter. Despite the rough waters of their relationship, her parents eventually worked things out and Daniel told his former lover to leave his family alone.

When Dana reached the age of eleven, she received a letter and an unexpected visit from a staff member of Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She and her parents were told that she was a witch, and that Dana's maternal ancestor was a Squib, who married a No-Maj. Aubrey and Daniel soon decided that it was best for them to send their daughter so that she can control her magical abilities and further enhance them. Kimmy is still in the process of knowing her.

Third year shenanigans include somehow crashing Sasha's birthday, meeting the Allen brothers, visiting and vlogging with Mika during the summer, etc. Sixth year includes being here at Hogwarts, the Merlin's Pride with Sam, first kiss thanks to Maesi, more friendships especially with Oliver, adventures with Oliver, getting out of her comfort zone, developing feelings for Sam, Valentines with Sam, studying for JARVEYs with Langley, hanging out with Madelyn, becoming a girlfriend.
