She felt as if she’d made up for her earlier silence when Professor Berkovich had said she was correct with her guess of Leo as one of the constellations in the Northern Hemisphere. Of course, she’d been told it wasn’t visible in October, but that hadn’t been the question. Therefore, Stasya was just taking the correct comment out of it all, and she’d carefully copied down the list of others that had been mentioned too. In case it was important, although by the time the professor had summarized everything the list had gotten a lot shorter. And also didn’t include her suggestion, which made her earlier feeling of accomplishment fade a little.

The textbook part didn’t disappoint her as much as it had Emmeline and, as she’d glanced around her dormmate, Abey. Reading didn’t bother her, but she liked activities more than busywork. But, as she looked over the list of constellations to choose from, she saw one that caught her eye from the start. Because of the one thing she knew about it from the start, and reminded herself of her mission with Derf. Not any real personal connection like star signs or anything like that. Therefore, she’d flipped through her textbook and started scribbling down notes fairly quickly.

Capricornus
-Latin for “horned goat”
- SEA-GOAT!!!!
- smallest zodiac constellation
-half goat, half fish
- Babylonians thought it represented the god Ea and marked the winter solstice
- Greeks said it symbolized Amalthea, a goat who cared for baby Zeus and saved him from his daddy, or it might be Pan, the half-goat god
