To say Skylar was nervous was an understatement. She, Skylar Natasha Diggory, was entrusted with a baby niffler. She had a triple x creature. Yes, it was only a baby, but still.... it was a NIFFLER. And while she knew it was gentle and affectionate, she also knew that even a baby would surely be attracted to shiny things. Yet, perhaps, in the initial stages, earning its trust with something shiny might be of benefit.

Walking down the nursery, the fourth year peered into each pen looking for the male niffler that she was meant to take care of. First things first, she would have to give it a name. How long did she have to spend a day with it? What did baby nifflers eat? Skylar made a mental note to owl her mother later, because Savannah of anyone, would know about different creatures. Not that Professor Wayland didn't, but she wanted to seem competent and even though she knew some basic things about nifflers, there was other things she didn't know.

And there it was... With a big grin on her face, she slipped into the pen, void of jewelry, except a watch because she had to know what time it was. And some knuts in her pocket, because a few knuts to sacrifice for trust with the niffler might be worth it. Fluffy. Black, it was over in the corner... and Skylar just stared a moment, considering names. It was so teeny.

"Aguamenti," she said, as she poured some water into an empty bowl (one of the shiny chrome ones) and set it down for the creature. It liked the shiny, even as a baby niffler, because it ran over to the bowl to take a sip.

"Hmm, I think ... I'll call you Shin-ee... or Maybe just Nifty?" she said, thinking aloud. Though she guessed she could always settle on the name the next time she made her way down to the barn. No need to rush into naming something, but putting thought into it was good.

Glancing at the watch, she noted it was time to go, but just as she was about to exit, the small fluffy black creature jumped up and snatched the watch right from her hand. "Uh....That's my watch!"
