Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight "'M'okay," Abey said back to Daisy, because even though he had his hands over his ears and the music was blaring, he could still sort of hear people talking around him. He did also end up talking a bit louder though, because noise. "It's just a lot." A lot of a lot. A lot of people. A lot of things happening. A lot of headache.
Also, Abey really really REEEEEEALLY LIKED DAISY, okay? And not as in he like liked her or anything like that, but he just really liked her and the way she let him literally hang off of her arm and didn't get even a bit bothered by it and was always mega mega nice and WOULD EVEN FEEL HIS FOREHEAD TO CHECK HE WAS OKAY. It was good because Abey did often worry that he was bothering everyone else or being a pain or really really annoying.
Which may well have been the case today with most of the people at the Gryffindor table, because Abey could tell that Daisy was trying to get the party to quiet down because of HIM. But.......... he also selfishly did want the music to stop, because even though he WASN'T panicking yet, it felt like it might start happening soon, sooooooo he didn't really do anything to stop her trying to get Professor Myers' attention...
...... speaking of........ that man had some moves, didn't he? Abey staaaaared that way, until suddenly THERE WAS SOMEONE NEW HERE, one of the other visiting professors, who didn't look like she was someone to be crossed.
And then, there it was... quiet. Sort of quiet. When the almost-scary professor leaned over and pulled Abey's hand off of his ear and smiled at him real nice like, Abey flashed her a very grateful smile in return. "Thank you," he said, quite shyly, and wishing he had paid attention to the woman's name... not that he could remember if he'd even heard it yet so far.
Once she had gone, Abey took both his hands away from the side of his head and, now that both his arms were free to hug at will, he turned and gave Daisy a big hug of gratitude. "And thank YOU." This was much better actually; even though there was singing now, everything felt less like it was attacking him from every angle.
At LAST, Abey had his hands free. Now he needed to EAT EVERYTHING before all the food had a chance to disappear. As he loaded up his plate, he looked over at the Ilvermorny kids who were still singing. "What's that song?" he asked nobody in particular - but let's face it, probably Daisy actually - as he kept piling yorkshire puddings onto his plate.
