Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite Jessa may have corrected the girl, Madelyn she said her name was, about having invited them given the students were none the wiser until last month and it was clearly the Headmistress who'd extended the invitation but then she realized the girl likely wasn't being literal. A pleasantry. Yes. Not to be taken literally. Sometimes it was hard to remember. It had turned several a conversation she was a part of sour for the same reason. Catching herself at the last minute, the 13 year old instead smiled. "The Common Rooms are much warmer. I dunno where you lot will be sleeping," BECAUSE THE DORMS WERE FULL OKAY??? Hers couldn't take more beds. She'd already taken up most of it with her cauldrons and specimens, thanks, "but I bet it'll be proper warm too."
Jessa offered her prefect a wide grin at her gratitude. "No problem, you looked like you needed it." Except now, Kitty seemed to have completely mellowed out, so maybe she needed the gesture more than the actual drink. "It's....something alright. I find them rather...fascinating." She spoke as if there weren't a few of them sat at the table with them but it wasn't as if she was saying anything bad[. "They're an interesting lot, I'll give 'em that."
Like this one. Evan. "Curious." She replied, listening to the explanation of the boy from the...horned....serpent? Was that the name? Didn't it have another? Like Eagles were Ravenclaws but the name was Ravenclaw and not the name of a creature? "We associate snakes with cunning and ambition here." She said, pointing to the only snake Hogwarts had. The banner hung above the table across the Great Hall, rather proud in nature.
Also, was she the only one who thought the elves outdid themselves with the food tonight? It was like small bites of heaven.
She couldn't help pull a face when Hadley confirmed they were the "smart house". There wasn't a definition Jessa hated more. It was what had made her feel so out of place when she'd first been sorted. Not all Ravenclaws were smart--stunning but true. "I like to think we're the house that most appreciates knowledge rather than outright 'smart'." Because what determined smart? Memorizing answers for a test then forgetting after?
Again Jessa's eyes fell to the Gryffindor table. "Oh, that's his name. I take it he's always like that then?" Curious. Very curious. "I'm Jessa."They'd all thrown out their names. It was only right to introduce herself after all that.
