Ezra was always so quiet. It took a while for her to remember his name but it all clicked in a succession of flashbacks. Dalia blinked them back and tightened her smile at the sight of a trio joining their table; girl, little boy, handsome guy.

Her mental checklist just continued to update in a fascinating fashion.

She released Maddox because she needed to regroup. It was difficult to pool in all her energy and not say something that would shatter the supposedly Enchanted Ceiling. "Nahh," she drawled, still leaning on Khalil's shoulder. Dalia adjusted the borrowed glasses. "Not lucky at all, and you're right, I'm sure I could survive without them just fine, the same way ya'll have been surviving without a good tan." It must be a real struggle.

Maybe along with the yellow crooked teeth she heard all about, the Brits were also allergic to the sun; or was it melanin? It was hard to tell just yet. This required further research.

Dalia raised her eyebrows and laughed a little. "Okay?" she said and nodded. What was she supposed to say to that? Anyway...Dalia had more important things to do, say, per chance: figuring out how to make this food a little bit edible. Khalil was a saint, truly, and she dropped a kiss on his cheek when he handed over the hot sauce bottle.

"Easy there, tiger," Dalia crooned as she shook the bottle, covering the mysterious protein on her plate with a heavy heaping of hot sauce. "We shouldn't start a riot just yet." Dalia needed to at least have a look around the castle before they were all kicked out for good. Her fork went from her plate to her mouth, and her eyes from the girls whose names she had already forgotten to newer arrivals. A flash bright white hair caught her attention.

"Snow!" she called out with her mouth around her fork. Dalia stopped to chew and sorted for wiggling her fingers at him from where she sat. They would have to talk later for someone was dancing--an old someone at their table? towards it?

Dalia's eyes could not look away. It was a wreck. A huge wreck. It was fascinating.

"You're amazing!" she said in awe with wide eyes. Who knew such lack of rhythm existed in this world? He was so shamelessly displaying it for everyone to take notice. Before Dalia could contain herself she was clapping for him. The handsome friend of the mouthy girl was talking to the old man. Dalia watched him carefully, olive eyes drifting from his temples to his lips.

"Speakers? A boy like you has those kind of things laying around?" Dalia asked him with a twinkle in her eyes.

Again, distractions were everywhere. Her eyeballs wanted to roll to the back of her head but she controlled them. She was the boss. She was! Her shoulders rose and fell with another deep dramatic sigh.

"No, I don't," she told Maddox sounding utterly devastated. "To be honest with you, I didn't even think of it. The only thing I thought of packing like that was my bikini."

What was more patriotic than wearing your country's flag on your bottom?
