Very forward thinking on the part of the Professors if you asked her because Circe knew her concentration would have been shot to hell if she had to sit hungrily waiting to find out something that had little to do with her. That would have been the true definition of torture on this empty stomach.
Jessa flopped into a seat by the others, being sure to sit on the side that would put her directly opposite the Gryffindors. "I think they'll prefer sitting with the lions." She commented to everyone present, shortly before tugging the ham a little closer. MmmmmMMmm it smelled delicious. There was no apprehension in her small body. Knowing there wasn't a possibility it could be you took a whole lot of the pressure off, leaving her to enjoy her dinner.
Oh yes, she'd be wanting some of the mash too--and some greens. The pie looked good so into her plate it went too. Here and there she pulled things closer, freely helping herself since her house mates didn't seem like they wanted to. "Merlin they sure know how to make an entrance, huh?" Had to not notice the music that blasted at the table just next to theirs and the loud singing of one particular Ilvermorny students. "D'you suppose this is how all our meals will go until the end of the school year?" A part of her hoped not. She supposed she'd miss the peace after a while if she was being honest.
Catching the end of Katherine's sentence, Jessa looked to Hadley. "You wanna be picked?" Quote:

"I hope I am, but I don't know. They might prefer to pick someone who causes less trouble?" She glanced around the Great Hall, at the still filtering in Ilvermorny students. Jessa was right, they probably would sit with the Gryffindors, but they'd still probably get some Ilvermorny students at the Ravenclaw table. She turned back at Mossy. "I forget, did you sign up as well?" She probably should remember, but she's been so busy with animagus training and that had been over a month ago.
Hads grinned at Jessa's comment about how the Ilvermorny kids knew how to make an entrance. It didn't surprise her at all. They were American, after all, just like she was. She nodded. "Yep, I would love to be picked." Quote:

Breathlessly, she made her way into the hall and sat down at the Ravencalw table. "Hey guys," she said hurriedly to the others, craning her neck to the staff table and all around to take a look at the newbies. Somewhere along the way of making to the positively medieval structure that was the Hogwarts castle, Manuela had lost track of the Gryffindor prefect. Which was fine. She had not lost Deo and she had not lost Evan--largely because she'd hooked her arms with theirs, obviously--and that's what mattered. She didn't want to sit at a table surrounded by strangers because at fifteen, insecurities were still aplenty. Unfortunately.
The horned serpent bounded towards what she assumed was the Ravenclaw table because of the colors. Hogwarts was obsessed with color coding things, apparently, something she could definitely understand but, really, there should have been a line drawn somewhere. She arrived to the table just in time to hear the tail end of some girls' comments and Manuela tried very hard not to snort. The end result of her sound was, then, something that made it sound like she was choking. Her cheeks suddenly felt hot, but she ignored them as she slid her arms off her classmates and sat down near two blondes (Jessa and Hadley.) "Jordan is over at that table and he's a menace in need of several slaps, so." This was a fact. "Anyway, I think your house and mine are something like very distant cousins? That makes this table better, instantly." Something like that. She grinned.
Her movements were only a little bit reluctant as she surveyed the pumpkin juice and helped herself with some. Manuela raised her goblet but before touching it to her lips, her eyes zeroed in on a brunette (Kitty) who sported one of those badges, sort of like Tenacius Salander's but not quite as red. Or red at all, really. "You're one of those prefects, right? I've met one of you already. Do you keep tally of how many times a week another student questions whatever authority the school has given you?"
