A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
So apparently they were all headed to the Great Hall after the students and professors of Ilvermorny had arrived earlier at the pathways and Mason would have gone to the library to sit on one of the comfortable chairs, reading his book near the fire place if he had been a first to fourth year. But as a seventh year and as someone who had signed up to participate in the tournament, he thought it would be wise to follow.
Once he reached the Great Hall, he was surprised to be the second Ravenclaw at the table. Hadley got a quick "Hello" and a little smile before he sat down. Perhaps that was a good thing that not many had arrived yet because he could quietly read as he didn't want to mingle with ilvermorny students. The first impression he had gotten from them was that they seemed like a obnoxious and arrogant bunch of teenagers.
So, while he waited for any announcement which he was sure was going to happen soon, cause why else would they all go to the great hall? Mason opened the book he had been reading at the pathways and continued his story.
