Oh, buddy..... Her workstation looked like a fairy had peed on it. A glitter fairy...with glitter encrusted wings. Olivia decided she'd feel terrible about this later, during clean up... but for now... IT WAS ONWARD WITH THE POTIONS BREWING. They were running out of time, and she wasn't so hot under pressure. Well, unless they were in the duelling arena. 'Cause.... heh, this Gryffindor gal was a force to be reckoned with in that circumstance.

Now, for these "fall leaves"... What, exactly, constituted a "fall leaf"? Like..from a dogwood tree? Birch? Beech...? ....There were plenty of beech trees outside around the lake. If she wanted to recreate this potion, would it be acceptable to collect those leaves for use? Considering they weren't especially magical... Or did them growing on the Hogwarts grounds, in turn, make them magical? "Professor, does it matter what type of fall leaves are used?" It was asked offhandedly as she added her five into the cauldron. Also, it hadn't occurred to her that she might have been making a nuisance of herself. It was just... Olivia did like some level of detail..... She'd gotten that from Rooney, actually. So, Professor Canterbury could thank him, if she were being annoying. When you dated a Ravenclaw, amright?

Speaking of Rooney... he looked to be finished. Gah, that was efficiency.

Anyway... these moth wings. More questions were presenting themselves, but Olivia was doing the Professor a favor and keeping her mouth closed (for now). After the lesson, the blonde would visit the older lady's office and they could squabble over the details with a nice, hot cup of tea. Liv would bring a notebook and pick her teacher's brain about all the things. It was her OWL year, after all. She wanted an 'O' on the Potions OWL...

No... No, let's not spiral further with adding examinations to the mix, self. Please, let's not.

Pausing to take a steadying breath, Olivia eventually grasped both moths by their delicate wings; dipping them fully into the phial holding the clear liquid. The demiguise tincture... She was still very curious as to what had been used to make it, and would be inquiring about its formula after the lesson, if Professor Canterbury didn't mind too much. Unless it was a shifty secret.

Dropping the two in, she quickly followed that up with the pearl dust. How many ounces was this again? Did the exact amount matter? It would still set off the reaction either way, correct? So, perhaps the strength of the potion would be dependent on however much was used...? Jotting 'one medium-sized phial' next to the ingredients listing, Liv dumped that into her mixture, as well...stepping back. She doubted it'd be too dangerous if she chose to stay close, but her luck had been pretty terrible lately, and it was just best not to die before she got the chance to accomplish all the things she wanted to in this life. Constant vigilance and all that. Thank you, Professor Hirsch. After about five minutes, the burning seemed to be dying down, and she carefully made her approach...noting the color and lack of distinguishable smell. It was shifting from that beautiful eggplant color to a whitish-silver one. It was getting there...but wasn't quite to the point it needed to be... Huh, After adding a third moth, she recleaned her stirring rod before dipping it back down into the cauldron. Yes, that was probably overkill, but she'd rather keep all her utensils clean, considering the amount of stray glitter still littering her workstation. Good thing she had it to herself.

Okay... stir FIVE times COUNTERclockwise, and then TEN times in the opposing direction. It was offsetting the stirring from before. Nice. The symmetry made her brain purr, for whatever reason. Working her favorite crystal stirring rod, Liv squished up her eyebrows up in concentration. JUST SO SHE DIDN'T ACCIDENTALLY do the wrong thing. SUPER. CONCENTRATION... somewhat.

Well...the color looked right. that was definitely a silvery-white... to her eyes. She thought to ask for a second opinion, but ended up having to force her hand down on the work counter; a new wave of cramps making themselves known. Please, P L E A S E...just let her finish this up and then she could go cry in peace and quiet in the girls bathroom...about being a girl.

With a shaky hand, she added the last moth and then layered the cheese cloth out over her cauldron. Deep. Heavy. Breathing. Geezus, it was hot in the potions lab. Sweat was clinging to her neck uncomfortably...but Olivia tried her best to keep an almost smile on her face....but she only felt super nauseous. The blonde was definitely a touch green in the face.
