SPOILER!!: Shay's notes

It was time for brewing and Shay was ready to go. She copied down all of the instructions from the board, making sure to double check them for correctness. Then she went to wash her hands and took out her necessary equipment. After cleaning everything, she went up to retrieve all of the necessary ingredients that she did not already have.

Shay returned to her work station, organized her supplies, then checked her notes again. Taking out her wand, she aimed it into her cauldron and said, "Aguamenti". She watched as the water poured into her cauldron and when it had reached the halfway mark, she said, "Finite". All set with the water, Shay lit the fire with a quick, "Incendio ". Finally, she turned the flame up high and waited for the water to come to a boil.

When the water was finally ready, Shay dropped her five juniper berries into the water. She donned her protective gloves, grabbed the Shrivelfig that Ava was offering her and proceeded to squeeze the juice out it. "Thanks", she said gratefully to her dorm mate. Once the Shrivelfig was sufficiently de-juiced, it joined the berries in the cauldron. Shay looked into the cauldron and noted that her potion seemed to be what could pass for light purple. Hoping she was on the right track, she continued on.

After peeking at her notes, Shay reached for a stirrer and placed it in the potion. It was time to stir ~~obviously~~ and she began to move in a counterclockwise direction, counting softly to herself. "one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten." The stirring was then reversed and moving clockwise. "one, two, three, four five" When Shay checked, she thanked Merlin that her potion was dark purple. Whether or not it was dark enough, she did not know. Hopefully it was.

Next, Shay had to add her six cherries to the potion. She gently dropped them into the cauldron one by one. Then she grabbed her scoop, filled it with silver glitter and poured it into the mixture. She repeated the process one more time, resisting the urge to stir everything together. Next step, turn off the heat, which is exactly what Shay did. Taking a deep breath, she prepared to complete the second half of the potion.

Can be used for up to three hours a day For stronger effects substitute two demguise hairs for the tincture, three hours instead of one.
