Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight In spite of himself, Jake gave a chuckle. "Trust me, I know first hand that it'll take more than that." And that was considering his life before becoming a Hit Wizard. In fact, that was considering his life before he had even graduated from Hogwarts.
Still... he hoped his heart would keep up with the rest of him. Luckily, it certainly seemed that way; already his body had realised there was no danger, and acting like it was any other day.
He wrinkled his nose slightly at the mention of interviewing grieving muggles. "Not exactly my favourite part of the job either." While it was all heartbreaking and difficult to do from an emotional standpoint, and Jake realised that, on a more personal level it was just that... well... it was pretty awkward, especially when you were terrible at being... you know... supportive. Jake would try, don't get him wrong, but he really was just awful at it. The whole tact thing. It was best for him to stay away from a grieving anybody. "Me? Yeah. Just a routine case, really. Even so, nice to have it all wrapped up." Until, well, the court cases, but that was in the prosecutor's hands now. "Can't say I'm looking forward to all this paperwork, if I'm completely honest."
To be honest, it was no secret that Jake loathed and detested any form of paperwork. Was that really so abnormal for any Auror or Hit Wizard though? "Oh!" Jake exclaimed, as his memory was suddenly jolted. "I saw Dale at the weekend. He said to say hello if I saw you. Said he'll send an owl your way soon, to catch up."
