Did somebody say Hirsch?

If he was completely honest with himself, Hirsch wasn't sure if he wanted come to this event or not. It was the start of term feast, sure, but there were going to be questions asked. Innocently posed questions about the summer that had just gone and the man wasn't entirely sure how he was going to answer these questions.

Eventually, the Defence Professor descended into the Great Hall for the feast. His hands were tucked into the pockets of his suit and there was a slightly forced dimpled smile on his face. As always, there was a blue Ravenclaw pin pinned to his chest, an accessory that had long since become tradition for him to wear to these things. A quick glance around the area told him that even though he was late - Viktor Sokolov was right - he wasn't too late. There were no students here, after all.

And so, he concentrated on the staff, instead. "Evening, all," he said once he'd reached the dias, "I hope you're all doing well. Everyone ready for the new year?" No Regina? Was the Headmistress running late? That wasn't like her, was it? Just to check, the man glanced up and down the dias and then behind him and at the entrance of the Great Hall. Huh.

And where exactly was River?

Shrugging it off, the Ravenclaw Head of House went to sit down in between two new Heads of Houses. Funny how that turned out, didn't it? "Congrats, Laurel," he said once he sat down and had the chance to look at her properly, "The green really suits you." Smile. "And congrats, Gaston. Looking forward to taking over the lions?" Hopefully, this added responsibility would give the man a little bit of a confidence boost. Merlin knows, he needed it.
