| ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes. Scene 3:
This is a meeting Esme set up so that Olly could meet a fellow Goth, Kitty Valentine. It takes place at the Leaky Cauldron (Main Floor Seating) during the summer of 2092. OOC: Because DA closed, we've decided to move the RP here SPOILER!!: The rest of the RP! Quote:

So Kitty's cape had charms. That explained how she could wear it in the summer and not be too hot. "I wish I had your creativity when it comes to clothes." Something that Esme had told her friend in the past. It was true that she wore interesting clothes at times, but she didn't design them in the way that Kitty did. Beaming, she got herself comfortable and waited for Olly to take a seat as well. "I haven't done too much since summer has only just started, but we will be away in Paris for a month like always. Olly and Leon are going to join us a couple weeks in!" There were other plans as well, but these were the most immediate ones. "What about you?" Quote:

Olly was highly impressed. "Are you thinking of getting into fashion after you've graduated from Hogwarts? Yeah, you don't look at all uncomfortable with the cape.'' Charms on the clothing made things better. "I don't use them on my clothing. Just on paintings.'' It was a little twist he liked to go with and it become his signature over the past year.
He took a seat next to Esme. "I've been getting some last minute painting done. I wanted to get them all completed before the summer started so I could spend all my time with Esme.'' Olly smiled shyly at his girlfriend before putting his attention to Kitty once more. "How about you?'' It was needless to say he already liked Kitty. Quote:

"What sort of paintings do you create?" she asked curiously.
As for her summer: "Rooney invited me to his place. It was really nice since no one had ever invited me anywhere before." There wasn't any trace of bitterness or sadness in her voice at that statement, she was really quite bubbly today. "But he wasn't the only one: Tenacius stopped by for a visit and I visited him too. AND he invited me to visit him later. That was so sweet of him. I can't wait to see him!" She smiled a little dreamily.
Olly's question about fashion was a good one. "I haven't really thought of getting into fashion before," she confessed, wondering if maybe she should have at least given it a thought. Not that it would change her mind on what she wanted, but since it was something she did everyday, it did kind of surprise her that she'd never thought about it. "All my plans post-graduating involve me getting into politics one way or another. Did Esme tell you how much I love Muggles? I'd like to repeal the Statute, though I know that puts me in a super tiny minority. I may even be the only person who wants that, but I'm very willful about it. Speaking of which..."
And she dug in her purple purse and brought out two books and handed them to Olly and Esme. They were books written by Carlotta Pinkstone. "I'm handing these out to all my classmates this year. Carlotta Pinkstone is in my opinion one of the bravest people in history and I think everyone should read her writings. They're all yours."
Once the excitement of the moment wore off, she smiled a little sheepishly. "Er...I do love fashion, though. Maybe I could combine the two, and just be a super stylish activist? What about you guys? Do you have any post-graduating plans?" She wondered if Olly was going to become a painter. Quote:

"You should see them sometime. He's really good at painting. He just gets better and better with each one he does." Hopefully this wouldn't embarrass Olly. She beamed at him.
The comment about finishing paintings so that he could spend all summer with her made Esme blush with pleasure. This was going to be an amazing holiday filled with them spending time together. "Oh, yes. It really is. And later on we are going to South Africa to meet Olly's dad and sister." Needless to say she was beyond excited for this. His family had to be every bit as lovely as he was and hopefully they would like her; something that Olly had assured her that would be the case. "Kitty, you know that you are always welcome to come visit me and Juno at the house," she added with a smile. And the look at the mention of Tenacius did not go unnoticed; she was well aware that Kitty had a crush on him. "That's amazing! I'm sure you two will have a great time."
Muggles were brought up, and while Esme didn't feel as passionately about the subject as Kitty did, she definitely saw her friend's point and admired how strongly she felt about the issue. It was good that the word was being spread though reading was not something that she enjoyed unless it was related to Divination. Still, she gladly accepted the book as it was offered to her. "Thanks, Kitty. I will definitely make sure to read this since I am not as familiar with her or the issue as you are." Honestly she WOULD read the book as best as she could even if this was not the kind of pastime that was particularly enjoyable to her; weird since both her parents and sister loved to read. "Well, I am planning to go to Wizarding University for a couple years and then become a unicorn therapist, which is basically horse therapy, but using unicorns." Did Kitty know about horse therapy? Because if not, Esme could explain it to her the same way that she had to Olly last Christmas. "So do you guys want to have something to eat?" Random, but Esme was getting hungry. Plus they WERE at the Leaky Cauldron. Quote:

"I have a lot of great teachers at WADA.'' He nodded in confirmation to what she said. "Need less to say it'll be a summer of meeting the family,'' he joked. "In case you're both wondering, I am a little nervous of meeting Esme's dad.''
He listened to the friends talk (did she have a thing for this Tenacious?) before answering Kitty. "Anything that inspires me really. Recently it's been of unicorns and horses because of Esme. But I'm having a few ideas right now about goths.'' This was thanks to Kitty, of course. He continued to listen to her plans after graduation with great interest.
She really was passionate about this topic. While Olly was also in agreement for the wizarding community to to remain a secret, he respected Kitty's opinion. She had a book for them? "Thank you. I'll be sure to read this,'' he said earnestly. Really. He would read it. He had heard of this Pinkstone woman and would like to know more. "By the way, I think you should go for the stylish activist. You'd attract a lot more attention that way.'' He smiled. "It's just going to be a painter's life for me. A quiet, simple one.''
You know, he had actually forgotten about food. "You ladies can order first. It'll be my treat.'' |
