He was very disappointed, however, to find that Diagon Alley did not sell ANYTHING that offered any ounce of protection against portals or monsters. Granted, the whole thing SHOULD be solved right now, since Miffy and Storm went in the portal (Good riddance, really) but still. He would rather be safe than sorry. No getting sucked in to portals for this one!
He paused and sat down on a nearby bench, taking out the latest issue of Marvin the Mad Muggle that he'd purchased along with his books. Magical comics were AWESOME - they moved, which made them a million times better. Natalie had ditched her parents. Impressive for a twelve year old, maybe, but she had left her new books with her mum in bookstore. Mum and a bookstore meant they'd be standing, waiting for at LEAST an hour before she would even think about leaving. Mum loved books even more than her.
So she used some of her coins to go get an ice cream cone instead of finding more school supplies. Her twin brother was around somewhere too, but Natalie was wandering off. She was wearing a nice floral dress and sandals and her long brown hair was down on her shoulders.
Licking her strawberry ice cream, she wandered slowly down the alley, only glancing up from her cone every once in a while to make sure she wasn't going to run into anyone. It was one of those times she looked up that she saw a bench a couple feet away that she was about to run into. Luckily, she stopped just before it... and saw the person that was sitting there...
Holy blonde. He was..... beautiful.
Momentarily in a daze, Natalie held her ice cream cone in front of her, her blue eyes locked onto the blonde boy on the bench. Her tiny twelve year old heart stirred for the first time ever. But it was strange, because boys were gross, weren't they? But this one couldn't be THAT bad, surely... |
