Totally engrossed in the comic, Ambrose had NOT heard Professor Stewart approach him, flinching in surprise as he was addressed by her. That was quickly replaced by the first year Hufflepuff beaming at the woman in question as soon as he realised it was her ~~and also the cookies she was offering~~.

He nibbled at it, mainly as a tactic of making it last longer.
