She took a deep ragged breath, "You....you love me?" She looked at him as seriously as she possibly could, trying to hid the smile that was creeping to her face.
He loved her? Leon knew he probably should have saved the "I love you" for a more special occasion but he just couldn't stop the words as they fell from his lips.. He wasn't sure what her reaction would be.. if she would say it back or would she just.. laugh at him?
He kept his grey eyes on her as she looked up at him with those amazing blue eyes of hers.
"Mmmm, I love you. " He said it for the second time, the words fell a bit easier from his lips but they still had the same meaning..
Almost unbidden.. he found more song lyrics come to his mind that his sister would sing to him.. they seemed perfect right now..
I told her that I loved her, was not sure if she heard, the roof was pretty windy and she didn't say a word..
Gosh dang it.. Why did these song always pop into his head at the most inopportune times? At least he felt a little calmer now? |
