Kane's eye muscles were going to start twitching soon, because he had been using them FULL FORCE to stop himself from HARD CORE EYE ROLLING at all of this. It was a good idea of course, and really one of the only things they COULD do at this point. They couldn't just start hurtling jinxes at the ghosts and hope they would somehow come with them after that. Reasoning was really the only thing they could do that wouldn't end in disaster.
Still, the fact that they had to even TRY and REASON with the poltergeists was just...SO ANNOYING.
Kane decided then and there that he didn't feel at all sorry for them, and if something bad happened to them after they threw them in the portal or...whatever they were going to do, he was still a bit confused about that part...well, he didn't care. He just did NOT care. They were worse than toddlers. MUCH worse, because usually toddlers got tuckered out at some point and fell asleep. Not the poltergeists, though. They did literally nothing except cause problems, and were an absolute nuisance who should have been exorcised or whatever you did to get rid of poltergeists YEARS ago. Maybe he'd start a petition - if things didn't work out well.
THEY. WERE. WASTING. TIME.
Kane knew he couldn't do much more than WAIT, though, so he just shifted his weight from one foot to the next, holding his wand anxiously. "Do you think we'd know if Abey and Simon....you know...were eaten?" he whispered to Brent. Surely if they found a...*GULP*...CORPSE...a patronus would be sent to inform the professors they were with, right? So that meant that Abey and Simon had to still be alive, right?
RIGHT?
