Brent sighed. How had he not known that Kane would go straight for the action? Was it too much to ask that the younger Westwood go with him and stand watch at the portal? Apparently so, and so now Brent had a decision to make. He could either stand by his word and go straight to the portal, or he could head to the fifth floor corridor...again.

Professor Marchand brought his attention to the fact that the other group may need help catching Storm. He was right, but when Brent was there a few minutes ago, the other group didn't seem to want any help. Marchand was a professor, though, and no way would the other group deny him! "You're right," he said to him. "If you think we could benefit the situation more by going to the fifth floor, then count me in."

"Skylar's right, Derf. Nobody, not even the seventh years, needs to be alone right now," he said. He looked toward Skylar. "Guess I'm going to the fifth floor after all." She was literally going to kill him when this was all over. Then with that said, he really did turn and head off.
