Abey was still mid-screech when he found the monster roaring directly into his face. He stopped suddenly, all but frozen in fear, tasting the creature's saliva on his own lips and feeling his stomach churn in utter revulsion. A whimper escaped him.

"It's w-waiting..." he choked out a sob, his voice just above a whisper, and shaking just as badly as he was. No other words would come to him; his mouth just kept moving, repeating the same thing, over and over. "I-it's waiting... it's waiting..."
