It's senses led the monster up to the fifth floor, where its meal would be waiting and hopefully no one would be casting spells at it. At this point, hunger was an ever-present feeling. The time to make its move was now or never.

Voices caught its attention the moment it stepped onto the fifth floor, or rather made its way onto this level of the castle by ceiling. There were two adult voices, but it was the sound of the other two that made it decide to cautiously investigate further. They sounded young ... the owners of those voices sounded like they would make for a tasty meal ... they were now its prey.

The creature's head peeked down the corridor from the ceiling. Right away it saw the two older figures walking down the hall and turning a corner, leaving two boys on their own. They were heading its way. Slinking back ever so slightly so it couldn't be seen, the beast waited, getting itself ready. Its mouth was filling to the brim with saliva, its adrenaline pumping.

When the boys came into view, the monster pounced down from the ceiling and latched its long fingers on both of them and started dragging them down the corridor and out of sight. It was now time to return to where it had come and enjoy the feast it had caught for itself.
