Resident Ghost of Hufflepuff | Friendly & Cheerful "Hello!" Alfred said with a jolly wave. He wanted to give them hugs, but alas, he could not. He would only freeze them if he did so! This was an ongoing problem, unfortunately.
And they wanted to know where ghosts hung out when not being on ghostly!duty? Alfred smiled. "Well, I've been down in the kitchens, and in the dungeons, as of late. The darkness is soothing for my ghostly vibrations," he said, almost playfully since "ghostly vibrations" was such a common muggle slang for their ghost beliefs. Or something similar to that. Alfred wasn't in contact with many muggles these past hundred years or so, with being the Hufflepuff House Ghost and all. "And...all of that portal energy. It makes us feel..out of sorts. Almost ill. Most of us have been resting." Difficult to do when one was a ghost. And dead. Whoever said "I'll sleep when I'm dead" was pretty much wrong if they decided to become a ghost. There was little sleep involved in this lifedeathstyle choice.
Another little one joined them. Alfred waved at her, too, in the same jolly manner. "With all the plants Myers keeps in here, I would hope you at least didn't mind Herbology." He chuckled good-naturedly.
He didn't at first notice the younger Hufflepuff boy. It was only when he sound slight movement out of the corner of his eye that he turned his head and noticed him (not the moving bulge yet, though). "Oh, hello!" Wow. These students must be so stir crazy, to come out and talk to him! He felt like his company was normally not so requited.
