Originally she had wanted to be in the Department of Mysteries, but that didn't exactly work out. It was no real matter, however, since now she had a best friend in Lynley even if they could drive each other nuts at times.

Nod. The frustration was understandable; she'd feel the exact same way in the other woman's shoes. Curiously she glanced at the paper before shaking her head. Gabby didn't understand how THIS helped with anything. "I'd say forget all this stupid paperwork and just go out there on the street and track this scumbag down. Then again I'm not an Auror." Not even going to pretend that she knew how things worked in that department. As sure of herself as she was, she wasn't stupid enough to think that she would take on Dark Wizards on her own with no experience. That would be suicide.
"Believe me, I'd want nothing more than to do that, but can't go jeopardizing the case." Paperwork wasn't fun but even she could admit it was sometimes a necessity. "Don't wanna go sticking our noses around long before we can start forming a profile or pattern with this guy, otherwise, he may very well pack up and head off somewhere else to be a little snot." Apparating was free afterall. He could be anywhere in the world with the right permits set in place and then it'd be like finding a needle in a haystack--it was also be out of their jurisdiction and there were very few things she hated more than losing her case based on technicalities like that.

"Right now I'm getting a feel for the people he's offing, trying to preempt him if possible. Looks random, which means talking to the people who knew them, finding out where they were when whatever happened, all that stuff." This they'd already started and it left them with a growing list of places that needed staking out. Luckily her Dad enjoyed watching Emm on nights she had to stay out.

Speaking of out. "Did you ever get around to taking that day trip to Spain?"
