She rose a hand at the boy, signifying that there was no need for an apology for first calling her a professor and then needing to make the correction. It was only a handful months ago she was his Defence professor at Ilvermorny. The title change was still something that even she was getting used to. Now, had he come to her office with his shirt untucked and tie loosened, then there would have been a reason for him to apologize.
"Yes, she was quite an extraordinary witch. There are times I wish I had been alive during her era," she state nonchalantly, before motioning for the former Ilvermorny student to take a seat on one of the sofas in the seating area behind her desk. Regina saw no need to continue their casual conversation anywhere else.
Her head nodded when Brent mentioned that he was no longer bitter about his move and that he, as well as Kane, were settling into the place rather well. "I'm glad to hear that," Regina responded genuinely. "I trust that your studies in DADA are going well? I put in a good word for you to Professor Hirsch." She had not forgotten that he had been one of her best pupils in her class.
When the Headmistress rose her hand, Brent seriously had no idea what to think. She was a Defense professor AND now a Headmistress. She could have a wand in that hand for all he knew! ... She didn't, though. It still didn't stop Brent from getting more alert, though. He passed a short, split-second glance at Stevie Nicks before moving to take the offered seat.
He nodded at her question.
"Oh, yeah. Defense class is going well, I think," he said.
"I joined the Dueling Club." He wondered if (with her background) she ever got involved in it. Then his eyes got sort of wide in disbelief, and he was left speechless for a moment.
"You put in a good word for me?" HIM? So the Head Honcho...the boss of the whole school...spoke to the Defense professor about him?
"Headmistress, that's amazing! Thank you!" he exclaimed. He had expectations to live up to now, but it was Defense class. He could do it!
"So the reason for my visit...," he added.
"Nothing major. I just couldn't believe it. Here I was all the way across the pond, and you're here, too! My Defense professor! It was like I got to take one of the two best parts of Ilvermorny with me." That was no suck-up line either. She knew he was all about Defense class at Ilvermorny.
"Anyway, congratulations on the big position!"
