Gaston was glad to see Rose smile again and eagerly returned her smile with one of his own. What she said made him laugh a little. No, he didn't expect he would like it. "Of course not," he said. "My Rose is too sweet and kind to be okay with that." He squeezed her hand back and gave it another little kiss. "It's the reason I fell in love with you..."

Gaston's bright blue eyes lit up as he laughed again. "If you're not careful, you may just spoil me!" he joked. Oh, that just reminded him! "Speaking of presents, I have one more..." he said. He opened his little black book to the page he'd marked with his pen and handed it to Rose to read; written on the page was a song he'd written while he was waiting for her. It was called "English Rose". Gaston had stopped laughing, but his smile remained as he gazed adoringly back at his Rose, eagerly awaiting her reaction. "You don't have to give me anything; your love is the only present I'll ever need." Just to underscore the sincerity of his words, he held her close and gave her a kiss.
