"We will be dealing with the portal, rest assured. It won't get the best of us; Hogwarts always bounces back." Look at all the dangers the castle has faced and it was still up and running. "We will get Carlton back, but I think it's best if the Staff heads inside if anyone goes. We do not know what is in there so it's far too dangerous. You and your fellow students can help in other ways." So yes, Noelle could still help them in getting Carlton and any other students who might vanish back.
As she talked, Rosalyn headed them towards the castle and up to the second floor, stopping once she reached the stone gargoyles. It really helped knowing the password because otherwise she had no idea how long she would have to wait for the Headmistress to head this way. After giving it to the stone gargoyle, she waited for it to let them gain access.
Noelle's adrenaline was pumping. She was ready to burst through that portal and hex whoever or whatever was in there and save her precious pea of an optimistic boy, Carlton. She didn't know anyone else had been taken as of this moment.
She would later.
Noelle barely registered what Professor Newton was saying. She was forming a plan in her head even as she followed, raced beside the professor to the Stone Gargoyle. She'd only been in the Headmistress' office once before. When she was taken back to school from her
Dungeon Days. She eyed the stone and waited for it to open.
"
Do you think the Headmistress will let us help?" Meaning the prefects and anyone else that wanted to help.
