Javi seemed pretty cool, and Bear was in the market for some friends. Finding friends at university was so easy because you were thrown together with the same people in your department so often... But out here in the real, grown-up world? He hadn't quite figured that out yet.

"Ohhh, really?"
Javi asked, perking up a bit. "That's awesome! I applied for an opening there as well. I figured with my background in potions, experimental research might be fun too. But I'm in Games and Sports. Ludicrous Patents Office," he explained with a smile. Not nearly the same thing as potion making, but it was fun. He was looking forward to something new, something he had never tried before...

Professionalism had seriously declined and the fact that her husband was laughing in the middle of it was not going over well with Victoria. She had been working at the ministry a very long time and had a reputation to keep. She thought reputation and standards were something he appreciated as well.

Trying to keep her calm she turned back to the man that had been her focus before the chaos, "I do apologize for all of this. I am hoping it is new employees that need to still learn how to act in the workplace." Maybe some show off 19-year-olds or something. There was a reason she wanted to raise the age in the ministry for most positions. Let the fresh out of Hogwarts students go to Uni first and learn before coming to work.

Oh his story was very interesting and she wouldn't mind knowing more, but she wouldn't pry into a stranger's life. "Custody issues can be very unfortunate. I had a headache with my ex for my oldest son. He's now an adult though and a father as well." Her year old grandson was her pride and joy. "I'm very fortunate with my twins though, their father and I are still very close and good friends. Our families get along wonderfully." Not that she liked having children to three different fathers, but marriage and divorce happened and so did just breaking up.
Javi just raised an eyebrow at the commotion. After being in school for over half his life, he was used to tuning out disruptions. He chuckled and shook his head. "Don't worry, I expected as much. Anytime you get a group of wizards together, someone is bound to act up, yeah?" he said with a smile. She seemed embarrassed by her colleagues - but seriously, if anyone should have been embarrassed it was them.

Oh, wow, she was just going to tell him her life story, eh? Javi hadn't expected that, but listened and nodded in all the right places. And he thought HE'D had it rough! AND she had a grandson? No WAY. She looked way too young to have grandkids!

"Well, that's great to hear," he told her in a nod. "I have no contact with my ex whatsoever. Didn't even know about Camila for the first few months, thankfully I kept in touch with old schoolmates and they were the ones who informed me and I was able to track her down at the orphanage she was at," he explained. He still thought about Karina every day though, wondering if she would ever contact him about visitation.
