PLOT TWIST: As the woman counts down to Y2K, she makes those around her increasingly furious at her doomsday prepping. They decide to gaslight her and help her build a bomb shelter which they hope to seal her into forEVER. Much to their (short term) chagrin, the world does end, and the woman is the only one to survive.
