When Gid came over, Becca glanced at him and resisted the temptation to elbow him hard. She turned to look at him and gave him a sickly sweet smile. "Hi honey! Well, I could do with a drink." She knew he wasn't talking to her, but hey, take the chance while she could! When Regina said that she'd been helping her, Becca smirked at her husband. "See? I didn't hurt anyone from your department. You can relax." When another tiny teeny itty bitty baby MLE person came over, Becca tilted her head at her. She was so cute! Could she pinch her cheeks? Please? Quote:

"Nice to meet you as well" he said smiling at her, "You must be Bryony. Please. Call me Gid or Gidyun." he said taking a step closer to her and offering his hand to shake hers. "It's a pleasure to meet you." There had been no way Bryony had missed all the activity happening nearby, what with all the flailing, yelling, and cats having been imprisoned in bubbles like they were Glinda the good witch. She would have turned in her badge right then and there if she had it yet. However, she hadn’t had to comment on it either. Silent observation worked just as well, and be4sides, she was still waiting for the acknowledgment of her having done her research and known her boss before he’d been introduced. Except so far all her arrival had seemed to attract was the attention of the redhead who’d been polling everyone on the shirts. “Charming the shirt isn’t against the rules, is it? Making it a bit more, well, wearable,” she said to her, getting the odd feeling the woman wanted to squish her like she was her aunt or something. Actually, her real aunts didn’t do that, which only made the feeling stranger.
Not as strange as the whole cat thing, and she’d been tempted to free said cat before her boss had replied finally. “I am,” she said with a nod, not questioning that one bit. Obviously he did his research as well, like any good boss would do. “Alright. Gidyun it is,” she continued, taking his hand and shaking it. She didn’t have a problem if he wanted things to be informal. It wasn’t what she expected, but she was adaptable.
That and she’d hardly reacted to the redhead having turned into a lioness and roaring to stop all the commotion. At least it had worked. Things calmed down. She was infinitely fascinated by the idea that it had been a department head encased in said bubble. Plus, she’d inadvertently gotten the names of several of the others gathered at the tables simply by listening. All that remained was to find out the true identity of said cat, and mentally filing away her observations about the others involved. The whole thing had been rather amusing, really, and an interesting first impression of where she’d be working from now on.
