Oh. He was learning Mermish? She was learning about mermaids! She wanted to learn Mermish too, so if she went swimming in the lake she could reason with them and not get kidnapped. She heard stories about the creatures living in the lake and all she wanted to do was swim in peace when the weather got warmer.
