Although he wondered WHY the poor man was being attacked by his colleague… Still looking around him he spotted a man who looked a little uncomfortable so Minhyuk decided that this man too must me new here! Still with his drink in his hand he walked over to the unknown man and stopped before him. “You’re new too?” He spoke, still smiling because, well… Smiling was healthy so why not? It wasn’t bad for anyone’s mood either! “I’m Park Minhyuk” he introduced himself.
Things didn't seem to be getting any less hectic as time went on. Duncan vaguely tried to follow a few of the conversations going on around him, but had to give up pretty soon as everyone seemed to know each other- or at least know what to do. And what was going on at the Ministry. Duncan hardly knew what his own job was, let alone anyone else's.
As such, it came as a bit of a relief when somebody approached him apparently just for a chat. A wide, wonky grin spread across Duncan's face and he turned to the other man with a hand extended to shake.
"I knew I wasn't doing a great job of blending in, but I didn't realise I was quite so obvious," he joked slightly feebly, his tone cheerful despite his sub-par humour. "Pleased to meet you- I'm Duncan. Er- Duncan Harrow, that is." Was everyone going to know him by his surname now? It would feel like being back at Hogwarts. He'd got kind of used to being able to address everyone a bit more casually, while he was at university. Well- they were here to make friends, though, weren't they? Better take that chance while they had it.
"What do you do around here?" he inquired, wafting one hand about in the air just in case it wasn't clear where 'here' was exactly. "And where do you get hold of a drink? Seems like I'm a bit behind the curve already." Day 1, here he came. |
