Plus, she wasn't going to steal anything right in front of him. Becca was far more subtle than that if she needed something. When the woman named Becca reached in and pulled out the t-shirt, Aaron had to do a double-take in bewilderment. Had she read his mind and known he'd already dissed the shirt? Or was she on his side? Like, who was she and if he answered negatively about the shirts, would he get fired before he began? But she HAD asked for his honest opinion... "Truthfully, I think it's a tad inappropriate. We're employees of the Ministry, yes." Yes, he had some 'Property of Kestral Quidditch Team' shirts, but quidditch was different. "We're not owned by the Ministry. The Ministry is an equal opportunity employer, not an owner." Quidditch teams, however, owned their players, by the contract. Quote:

If only Rose could have persuaded Leo to come along for support, but she was 32 years old so she couldn't ask him. It'd be like reverting back to teen years and she was an independent woman now and proud of it.
Pulling some dark strands of hair behind her ears, Rose entered the Check-In Area and clickety-clacked her way over on white heels to compliment her pink dress, to the goody bag table. Apparently they got presents on their unofficial first day of work and a nametag. If the nametag she had to pin to her clothes everyday was hideous could she just refuse to wear it or would that mean breaking some unspoken work rule?
Overhearing a man and a woman talking nearby about the content of the goody bags Rose moved closer to them after picking up her temporary ID which she stared at for a good long minute the, before she muttered out loudly in exasperation as she waved it around in the air. "Is this for real? Is it so hard to type Rose Kitridge correctly? I'm not called Roseann, RosieRose or Kiltridgers!! I refuse to wear this ID, can someone give me a new one?"
Giving the man a closer look, Rose momentarily forgot her exasperation as she blurted out in wonder "You're Rose, Aaron Rose, that plays quidditch, aren't you?" Speaking of quidditch, hearing a woman next to him who had flipped out about her name one minute and then blurted out HIS name, Aaron turned on the spot, trying to determine if he recognized her from anyplace. Not Hogwarts, because there were only two people he knew from there - least once they were grown up and he most certainly wouldn't have recognized anyone from their eleven year old form. Perhaps just a Kestrals fan? "Yes. Yes, I am. Are you a Kenmare Kestrals fan?" Because if she was, then obvious bonus points for her. Quote:

He straightened his name tag a bit, so it was easily visible when he started to socialize. He'd already changed the name on it so it read "Javi" instead of Javier, his preferred nickname, and eyed the crowd. Where on EARTH should he start? Would any of these people even really CARE that he was here? Was he just supposed to try and find people in his new department and just start...talking?
Maybe he should just leave. Dark green eyes flickering around the grab-bag area, Aaron had noticed the cat had forced the man and another lady onto the floor. He would have asked if they were okay, but well, there were probably people better trained for that sort of thing. At least that would have been the case on the Quidditch pitch, had someone gotten injured, and the ministry was a high-profile agency, so surely they would have trained professionals?
Squinting at a man nearby, he did notice the guy took the from same area where his department was. New coworker? "I'm sorry, but couldn't help but notice, you take from where the Games and Sports bags were... are you in that department?" And like was he new or seasoned, where he might be able to help him find Mariel? Yes, he knew Mariel - 15 years playing professionally would do that - well, at least he knew of Mariel, he couldn't be sure if he'd ever actually met her.
