"Simple as that?" Well then. Nicky would get on that right away, wondering very briefly if her second wand would end up aspen, as well. And if it didn't, what impact that would or wouldn't have on her.... extracurricular activities.
Nicky allowed herself to eye the woman's mountain of food and then, simply as a reflex, let her eyes trail over her body. "The food here good?" She would hope so, given how much she was about to eat. She was behaving today, mostly, and so kept all comments about the quantity of food or the need for a workout or anything else really snippy she might say elsewhere.
She glanced at the rest of the party, decidedly unimpressed. "It always like this?"
Simple? Was getting a second wand simple? In truth, she didn't know. There were a bunch of procedures and red tapes and frankly, it was more than the Auror cared for. Lex gave a shrug, helping herself to one of the kabobs.
"That's as simple as I know it to be. I'm a bit fuzzy on the more theoretical aspects of how this job works and the laws." Hence suggesting the girl talk to Simon. As head of Security, he'd know the ins and outs of securing one.
"The food's pretty decent, won't deny that. Wouldn't bother eating it otherwise. Life's too short to force yourself through unpleasant things...with exception." With obvious exception actually. Sometimes, though it loathed her to admit it, even she had to grit her teeth and go through it with things. It was how you maintained certain comforts. It was sometimes also how you kept your job and stayed off suspension too.
"Might take some home with me, now that I think about it." Like the pie right there, she'd take some home for Emm and watch the baby make a complete mess of it. Disappointing really.
Lex took a glance around the room, sharing the younger woman's sentiment.
"More or less I'm afraid. We had dementors and boggarts one year in a maze but that's the most I've seen." And for as much as she'd enjoyed them, as an MLE-er she couldn't help wondering who's dumb idea it was to use REAL dementors in a place where not everyone was so skilled at defense.
"Just a lot of mixing and mingling from what I've seen."
