The best thing about Orientation? The food. That being said, Merlin Lex hated these. Sure, it signaled the resumption of normal Ministry activities and more people within the building itself but....it was all the same to her. Aurors didn't get a whole chunk of time off--dark wizards didn't exactly go 'oh well it's the holidays, we should be good so everyone gets a break--which meant, she'd never stopped in the first place.

This...this orientation thing was just an unnecessary day off that she was forced to take. As if her official days off weren't hard enough to stomach. Ugh.

Lex walked the length of the table slowly, piling her plate with anything that happened to catch her eye. The plan was to grab enough then slip out and head to Level 2 without anyone really noticing. The case Bellaire had brought to her attention, though not something she particularly cared about, was dead interesting, and the sooner they could get on it, the better. Besides, extra office time beat the hell out of staying here and rubbing elbows with people she didn't particularly care for. Some were alright, yeah, but Lex was far too addicted to her work and not nearly attached enough to the persons currently present to spare a few hours.
