Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight Okay. Listen. Abey hated History of Magic. Actually probably with something close to a burning passion, actually. For obvious reasons too - at least, obvious to anyone who knew him well.
There was one bright side, at least. All of Abey's knowledge of magic and the wizarding world and everything came from what he had heard or seen from his family (and pseudo-family, but actually they were all his family too) and, even though he didn't know nearly as much as he might have done had he read his textbook, a lot of random pieces of information had managed to plant themselves into his brain; just the regular little things a kid picked up from listening to older and smarter family members talking, from time to time. The kind of stuff any wizarding kid would know and all that, but it was something. AND, because of the diversity in his family and the things they knew about and how SMART they all were, there were sometimes even little details about things that Abey knew that a lot of other people DIDN'T know.
It wasn't much consolation, but Abey would take it. Though he would have been much happier were he just allowed to drop History of Magic now and not after his fifth year. That was like five MILLION years away.
But here he was, present and correct, entering the classroom with the air of any kid who was being forced into the pure torture of sitting through a lesson they were simply no good at.
At least there was always food. Abey went to get some today, same as always. "Good morning, Professor," he said politely to the teacher lady, because he always remembered his manners and to respect his elders and everything. The smile he gave her wasn't even all that forced either. He picked up some shortbread and looked around at the desks. "Where's the warmest place to sit? I'm actually extra froze today." It just kept getting colder in this place, though this classroom at least wasn't as bad as out in the corridor, but hearing the wind howl outside the windows just made him feel even more cold than he probably actually was. Abey was already counting down the days until he could go home to Egypt for the Christmas holidays.
