Truth be told, Skylar wasn't all to sure WHAT the purpose of the Christmas Trees was, except for extra weight to drag up the snow mounds. Perhaps strength training to complement the cardio? Whatever, fortunately she'd selected a relatively small tree so it wasn't too difficult to drag it up the mound .... or maybe it was to provide some resistance on the way down?
Watching some other kids before her tie their trees to the snow tube, Skylar bit her lip and fastened it as well. Yes, the resistance thing made sense ... kind of like a motor? Without the motor part, heh. Feeling exhilarated and nervous as she looked down at the large drop, the thirteen year old plopped down right in the middle with enough force to propel the tube forward onto the slide.
"Eeeeeeeeee!!!" Skylar skrieked automatically. Not of terror, but of thrill, because feeling the brisk cold air on her skin, as she sped down the slide, well, it WAS thrilling. And more than enough to wake one up if they'd been sleep walking through the challenge beforehand (not sure how considering the cold wet). Speaking of cold wet, Skylar also wasn't sure about how the cold air would affect her wellbeing with being wet too. She almost felt like she should have worn something waterproof, but eh, too late now. And why had she JUST though of it on her last leg, as the cold air whipped by on her face?
Hands in the air - like she was on a muggle roller coaster - Skylar had her mouth wide open as her snow tube at long last came to a halt at the bottom, but she wasn't sure WHAT it was or if she was meant to secure herself better in the tube or if she hadn't fastened the tree properly, but as she reached bottom, due to the incline and then the levelness, she flipped back and over the tube, face-planting into the soft white snow. Fortunately it was soft, which allowed for a quick rebound and Sky to stand up, but she had a mouthful of snow too, which she quickly spat out.
"Well that was fun," Sky said to no one in particular, as she surveyed the table at the end where many of her classmates were already gathered. HOT TEA for SURE!!!!!!! Pouring herself some tea, she breathed it in, savoring in the warmth a moment before popping a zinc lozenge in her mouth as precaution. Cause wet clothes plus cold air, well Skylar didn't want to think how she was going to feel tomorrow morning if she didn't get dry soon.
