"I won't leave you!" Charlotte hollered over her shoulder as she shuffle-crawled through the triangular tunnel. "Even if my foot freezes off!"
But for the record she REALLY didn't want to lose a foot if she could help it. She could feel the pull on her foot every time she moved it in that butt-wiggling crawl that really wasn't super comfy on the knees. Even if she was in her winter gear, it sort of seeped through when you were putting weight on the parts that usually you didn't put on the ground.
Not much further to go! Another metre maybe! Not so bad really, she'd sort of expected, at first hearing the obstacles, that it'd be four tunnels to crawl through, not four tunnels next to each other of which you only needed to crawl through one. And there was light at the end of the snow!tunnel! She scooted out of it, her foot apparently attached to a first year, freeing of the tunnel too, and then stood up, grabbing the kid's hand instead. "Come on! Lets get tubes and trees!"
Charlotte pointed at the pile of each and then hurried over there. Soooo they had to drag a tree AND a tube up the next mound?
"Want to share a tube? It will be easier!" For him, not for her, probably. But she didn't mind this either.
Carlton's hand was moved from grabbing onto the girl's foot to her hand as soon as they were free from the tunnels. Holding a hand was much more pleasant than a boot and he beamed up at the older student. They'd made it.
And he was dragged along to the next obstacle. Now, how many were there again? And where was the hot cocoa? Carlton looked around them curiously, narrowing his eyes to see off into the distance. Tasty treats? Anywhere?
Then his eyes landed on the christmas trees. His eyes widened. He LOVED everything that had anything to do with Christmas. Carlton suddenly gained a whooole lot of energy and pulled on the older girl's hand.
"Christmas trees!" He bounced a little in the snow where he stood and watched the trees lovingly. So he might have missed the instructions because of the snow Yetis (which he'd totally forgotten about now) but all he wanted to do was to decorate the trees.
"We need a star do put at the top." He murmured lovingly.
Wait- Huh? Carlton looked up at the owner of the foot he'd latched on to in the tunnels. Share a snow tube?
"Okidoks, let's share a tube. And then we decorate." He supposed he could hold off on the decoration for a while. Just a little while though.
Now, where were they supposed to go? Carlton watched the other students grab a hold of a tube and a tree and move on in the run. Right. They were still in a run.
"Hurry uppp, we're lagging behind!" Which was totally Carlton's fault. Carlton let go of her hand and ran up to the nearest tube, he threw his arms around it and started pulling.
It slid a little on the snow but not very much. He huffed.
"Heavy." He murmured, looking over at his newfound friend. Hi friend. Wanna help with the heavy stuff, friend? With her help he was sure they could get both the tube and the tree where they were supposed to go.
"I don't want to be eaten by a Yeti!" Even though Yeti almost sounded like Jedi, he still didn't want them to eat him whole.
EEK.
