Sam had run round the castle looking everywhere for her bestie, but apparently the Gryffindor was nowhere to be found. As a consequence, she was arriving at the Three Broomsticks rather later than planned, and alone.

Hopefully her brother meant it about wanting to meet her, since she was missing a pyromaniac safety net right now. She had other plans for after this meeting she really wanted to make it to.

She pushed open the door to the pub, and lingered on the mat a moment before being pushed in more fully by a mob of excitable students. Giving them a frown for their impatience, more because of the nerves jangling in her stomach than anything else, she smoothed her hands on the legs of her jeans, and straightened her white blouse. A blouse that she wouldn't ordinarily have chosen, but she wanted to make the effort.

She was late enough to know her brother must already be here, but where?

Her gaze scanned around the room, landing on a table conspicuous for only having one boy at it. Not a student she recognised, and looked slightly older than herself. Was that him? She chewed her lip, unsure. If she wanted to turn back, the time was now. But she also wanted explanations. She started headed over, already mentally preparing how to introduce herself.
