Gaston arrived too late to hear what Jordan said to Rosalyn, which was probably a good thing. He wouldn't have known what to make of it if he did! He did catch the end of the conversation the others were having; he distinctly heard the name "Marshmallow" and he assumed they must be talking about an animal. "Who's Marshmallow?" he asked. He hoped it was a cat; maybe then Phantom could make a new friend (and not be so possessive of him)!
He smiled at Rose and Kay as they took him up on his offer for coffee. "Coming right up, ladies," he said cheerfully. So no coffee for Jordan? Okay then, suit yourself, he thought as he turned to the coffee maker. He quickly steadied the cabinet shelf before anything fell and took out two mugs for Rose and Kay. He was about to get a third one for himself, but Jordan's words caught him so off guard that he dropped the mug, causing it to shatter with a loud crash.
Gaston's blue eyes blinked in surprise. Was that supposed to be a joke? He hoped it was, but sometimes he wasn't sure whether Jordan was just teasing or really picking on him. He decided to laugh it off, at least for now. "I'm always clumsy, no matter who's around," he said with a slight chuckle, though he was only half joking. "That's just who I am." He performed a quick nonverbal mending charm on the broken mug and gave Kay an appreciative look as she offered to help with the coffee. "Probably a good idea," he said. There was no telling what more damage he might cause!
