But her face blanked out when he asked what he could do for her, because clearly nothing seemed to be broken and the pain from the burn had dissipated some mostly actually. So then what did that leave her? She could fake burn pain, but somehow she sensed he was a fair healer and would know she was lying. Instead she just breathed in deeply and exhaled slowly, at least at first.
"Hi...... Mister Reed," trying to prolong the moment as much as possible. "I burned my arm in class, and well I wanted you to have a closer look." And for him to be closer to him so she could inspect him on a closer level. Not that he'd know that. She rubbed her right arm with her left hand soothingly to indicate which one was burned.
Mister Reed.
Mister. It wasn’t every day that he gets called by that prefix, in fact, only when he’s outside of the realm of healing that he gets the chance to hear it. River didn’t mind however, as long as the students respect him then that’s more than okay. His eyes landed on Skylar’s right arm and instinctively reached out to get a hold of it to take a peek under her sleeve.
“It’s a burn alright,” he started as he gently let go of her and grinned down at the student,
“And I sense that you have high tolerance to pain. Which is a good thing but,” River paused and started to walk towards his office door,
“You seem to have hesitated to take this visit. Your wound told me so.” The Healer tilted his head to the side, wondering if it was Slytherin pride talking? Maybe.
“The ward is fully occupied at the moment, Miss Diggory. I’ll clean your wounds up in my office. Come along now.” River gestured his head towards his office door, and made a beeline for his medical supplies.
