Taking a seat, next to Carlton, she smiled towards the professor and his cup of coffee. Coffee.... Man, the Gryffindor could really go for some tea. "Hello." It was a general greeting.
Usually Carlton sat by himself. A friendly wave here and there but usually he was on his own in class. So he was surprised but over the moon when Liv joined him. Yes, he was so happy. So, so happy. He shone up when Liv sat next to him and flashed her a wide smile. Did everyone see that? Did EVERYONE see that? An older student chose to sit next to him.
And not just any older student. Liv had saved him (and his fire babies) in the last Herbology class. He depended on her very much. "Hi!" Carlton gave her a loving look before turning his attention back to the professor. Class was starting! SPOILER!!: Prof. Hernandez Quote:

Glad to see you joining this class today." He returned the greeting.
And don't worry about the mat. He had cast special warming charm so their bums wouldn't get cold.
He took a moment to take a sip of his coffee again while another student was coming in. Ah, a happy Ravenclaw. "Hello, Miss Guidry." Jordan nodded at the dark-haired girl. "Hello to you too, Miss Holden." The Professor smiled at the Gryffindor girl. What a very excited student. He hoped that she would enjoy the class today. Well, not only her but also the other students. Care of Magical Creatures was supposed to be a fun class, wasn't it?
Jordan tried not to snort when Matthew Meriwether came in. This boy seriously had some.... swag or something like that. Sometimes he didn't understand the teenage language. Merlin, he felt so old. "Good day, Mr. Meriwether." "Good to see you joining us, Miss Dance." He greeted in his not-so sarcastic tone to the young Slytherin. Clearly, some young kids nowadays was too distracted by their minds so they forgot to say hello to the Professor. Jordan was not a mind reader so he had no idea what made Sinead just walked in without the greeting or maybe even notice him. Which is, a good thing.
And speaking of distracted student, another one just came in. "Good day, Miss McKinley. It's good to see you attending this lesson." Hopefully she didn't being forced to be in here. Care of Magical Creatures was an elective class, so she had right to drop the lesson if she didn't feel fancy about it. Plus, it's not mandatory yet for the first year students. Hence why Jordan always mentioned 'for the students who have interested to learn about creatures' because it's useless to teach those groups who has no interest.
#Notsorry. "Hey, Mr. Emery." He threw a casual greeting to the Slytherin boy. It's great day to learn about unicorns.
Ah, poor girl who get her hopes high. Too bad that Jordan had to break it today. "Miss Spinnet. Clearly it's a beautiful day. But I think we will learn about unicorns sometime later but not today." Sorry, kiddo.
And he didn't want to comment why he provided desks for today.
Taking another sip of his coffee again, Jordan watched the students came (and not go yet) to his lesson. This time, he caught another Ravenclaw coming and he nodded as Leon greeted him politely. "I'm doing great, Mr. Kennedy. Thank you for asking."
Watching another student coming in without saying a proper greeting, Jordan just realized that most of them are the Slytherin firsties. Really, there's something between them. But who cared? At least this one had some excitement. "Hello, Mr. Carden." Jordan said hello to the young snake.
Taking a peek at his wristwatch, he decided to wait ten more minutes until he could start the class. This time, Jordan saw another Slytherin came in. "Miss Griffel. Good to see you in class today." Nod nod.
He managed a small smile when the Ravenclaw prefect came. "Hello Prefect Valentine. I'm feeling good, thank you for asking. And I hope you're going to enjoy this lesson."
Oh, what a coincidence that two Ravenclaw prefects coming at the similar time. Jordan couldn't help but blink when Rooney took a sniff of his drink. "Prefect Bronwyn, I'm just taking a cup of coffee before the class." Maybe he thought that he was drinking something else like... scotch? Hard liquor? Well, it's too early for that.
Maybe he should finish his coffee because he's about to start the lesson. But then, an excited Hufflepuff coming in and his inner though already said Brace yourself, Christopher Jordan Lee Hernandez.
He didn't know if Derfael was originally hyper or because he consumed too much sugary cereal for his breakfast. With his calm, manageable tone, he returned the boy's greeting. "Good morning, Mr. Ashbury-Hawthorne." And dragon eggs? Not today, kiddo.
And another Hufflepuff coming in. "Hello, Miss Delgado. It's good to see you today." Jordan tried not to crack a laugh when the Hufflepuff girl answered Miss Spinnet's question about lack of the desks. What a feisty badger.
And now there was another silencio first-year Slytherin.
Oh, maybe it's just a trend of the newly-sorted Snakes. "Mr. Ryker. I hope everything is okay." That's all he needed to say.
Oh well, at least this boy was quite breaking the silencio students. "Hello, Mr. Lewis." He nodded at the young boy. Okay, maybe he needed to wait for a little bit until he could start the lesson. "Miss Phillips. You're coming at the right time." Jordan said to the Gryffindor girl. By the time she arrived, Jordan took a look at his watch and it's time to start the lesson. Finishing his coffee, then he started the lesson by greeting them all. "Good morning, students. And welcome to another care of magical creatures' lesson. " He said. "Okay, so you guys have to understand that in magizoology, sometimes we also need to deal with sick creatures and how to make them become healthy again. And that's what am I going to teach you today." Yup, a basic creature healing. "But before we started, I would like to ask you this. When you were sick, what would you do in order to make you feel better?" This was not a difficult question, was it? OOC: Class has started, and please don't announce that your character is late or I am going to take points as the IC consequences. The class will be continued in 20-26 hours
Carlton hesitated. When he was sick it usually involved remedies such as hot chocolate and movies. But he doubted that was something Professor Hernandez did with the magical creatures housed at Hogwarts. Or maybe he did. Carlton didn't know the man.
So he raised his hand. "I like chocolate." He said nodding. Noticing the expressions around him he clarified; "When I'm sick. When I'm sick, I like to drink hot chocolate and watch movies in bed. That makes me feel a lot better. But I don't know which magical creatures that would work on, Sir..."
He wondered if it would though? In his heart, he hoped there was a magical creature out there somewhere in the world that felt a little bit better with hot chocolate. That would be cute. "I would like it to work for them too." He added, imagining one of the creatures he'd read about in the textbooks sipping a hot drink and watching Star Wars.
CUTE.
